In recent years the internet has changed from being a place where people go to find information to one where they run to bare their soul. It seems that the internet has now become a confessional of sorts where folks can anonymously share their secrets, as well as some horrible tales of sheer embarrassment. I imagine there must be something very cathartic about putting your most shameful moment up on a website where everyone can read it, but I would still harbor the fear that it could somehow be traced back to me, therefore outing me to my family and friends. What follows are some of the best tales of shame that I read during my research for this piece. As much as I would love to give credit to the people that posted them, they are all written under an obvious pseudonym, or just put up anonymously. The first embarrassment story is one that I actually can give someone credit for, and that would be Spike Milligan. He was a brilliant British comedian who told this story on a talk show back in the day. Enjoy these embarrassing tales and just be thankful that they didn’t happen to you.

That something more found its way into his underpants, but using some quick thinking he went to the nearest clothes store, handed over his credit card and told the salesperson to pick him out a pair of pants in the correct size. The shop person came back with the bag and the gent rushed off to catch his train ride home. On the train he immediately hit the restroom, tossed his soiled garments out the window and pulled out the clean pair which actually turned out to be a cardigan. Wrong bag and embarrassing walk home from the train station

With the deed complete they quickly got dressed, only to see a baby monitor in the room, switched on and fully functioning.

Upon entering the toilet he spied a massive spider, yelling “WOW! That’s a big one!!” No amount of explaining can make that okay.

Spare a thought for the girl attending a massive outdoor concert event wearing a beautiful summer dress and nothing else. As she is walking down the stairs she trips and falls, knocking herself out with the dress falling up over her head. I’ll bet that drew a crowd of onlookers.

One young man went online in search of game cheat codes and ended up getting blasted with porn pop-ups. Next thing you know the store is full of eager customers, all of whom can now hear the lovely online videos coming through the overhead speakers.

Waking up in the morning, plainly visible to all the neighbors who are heading off to work will really make you re-think that pool.

That happened to one mom who, when in line at the grocery store with her son, was stunned into silence when he pointed at the woman in front of him and yelled, “She farted!! Her butt stinks.” I imagine that poor boy is still grounded to this day.

It’s fine if there is a plunger, but if not, it’s a real walk of shame to have to go and ask for one.

A girl in college was trying to catch the eye of a guy she had a crush on, so dropped her pen so that she had to bend over and get it, showcasing her booty in the progress. The only thing she ended up showing off was her ability to pass loud gas at a 90 degree angle.
